Bespoke planters to enhance the playground of a school for children with learning difficulties and complex needs

Playground designs

Beaucroft Foundation School in Wimborne, Dorset has recently enhanced its playground with a series of WoodBlocX raised planters and seats.

Having been specified by Boon Brown’s Landscape Architecture team, we supplied eight different designs, including numerous bespoke structures ranging from large circular planters to wrap-around planter seats which aimed to increase the amount of greenery across the large tarmac space.

Planter benches

We created two different planter-bench designs, one straight with three sets of seating. the second was designed to wrap around the outside of a fenced area, creating a large planting space with integrated seating. Each features subtle curved edges to soften the design.

Circular planters

Being a modular system made up of a series of wooden blocks means that adding curves or creating circular designs can be easily achieved.

Several large circular planters were specified for this project, the planter design, as with all WoodBlocX structures, features a series of internal buttresses which provide additional strength.

WoodBlocX structures can be built on any surface, from grass to paving, making them ideal for all landscape architecture projects.
